PLTS
In this module i think i have done quite well as iv developed were i am weak and were my strengths are.
IE2-Researched about home videos
IE3-Explored problems that could go wrong.
IE4-Evaluated myself each week
IE5-Took in where it is best to film and other ideas.
CT1-Came up with more then 1 idea and developed them
CT6-Took in to conclusion that things could change and have a plan b
RL2-Set target each week and plan
RL3-Reviewed myself each week on strengths and weekness's
RL4-Listened to advice and criticism from Sir and Anthony
TW6-Told other students my opinions on their videos
SM2-Working towards my goals when i set them
SM3-Organized my time even though didn't always do it perfect i did near the end

26th May
Today i had a workshop with Anthony Batchler from cityeye. He talked about developing are video ideas, teaching us the software, showing us his own videos and how they were made.
To start of i talked through each idea i had come up with him and how i plan to do it. He gave me advice on how to do each one and said he most liked the music video. He said he would like to see my age in a msuic video and he liked the message. I was happy because he gave me positive feedback.
After everyone and I had presented are ideas, he showed us a video he had not long made about the traffic at brookfield school. He explained each step and how he made it. He talked about how camera angles are very affective wich gave me a lot of help and ideas. Anthony then gave us a task to get in to groups and create are own short film. It could be on anything to do with in the school.
I was in a group with Sophie and Kia. We had to create a mind map on differnt ideas. The final idea we agreed on was vertical tutors. We created notes on teachers we wanted to interview and students from each year.Though some teachers we wanted were not available what was a let down but we had other teachers fill in.
We wrote down the questions on a piece of paper and gave them to the interviewe befor we started filming so they new what to say. We had two lots of questions one for students and one for the teachers. We filmed are teachers first then the students. The purpose of having the same questions is so they can go in order and we can cut us out talking. This makes it seem more like a discussion/conversation then just question, answer.
Also we filmed cutaways of the school so it was more interesting and more to look at.
I had to take in to consideration that we needed a nice backdrop so when people watched no one would get distracted with something in the background. So we located the students and teachers where we wanted them.
Also i had to take in to consideration when filiming that the person being niteviewed should not be looking direct at the camera. So we had to focus on camera angles and have them looking at whoever is interviewing in are case Sophie or Kia.
Next we had to start editing the video together. This was tricky and quite scary as we had limioted time and none of us had used the software before. We chose one person out the group to be incharge of the editing, and i was picked. So when we needed extra filiming Sophie and kia would go of and get the footage. I picked the software up quite quick but wasnt to comftable with it still.
Finally when we had edited and shortened everything down we had to add titles and credits. After we were complete we had to present are piece to the group. We got positive feed back but we also got told make sure the sound is all at the same level. As in are film we had some people talking really loud and others talking quiter.
Today i think i have worked well as a group and we managed are time as we got everything complete in the limited time we got given.
A weakness of today is work out how to use transisitions as some clips just jumped from one another.
Though i am proud and pleased with how i worked today.
14th July
I have now completed everything so today i evaluated myself and went through my strengths and weakness's.
I feel my weakness's have turned in strengths and i feel comftable using the software. At times the software did play up, but with out getting annoyed that is something you have to deal with as it always happens.
I enjoyed this project and would love to do something like this again.

7th July
Today is are last day for editing. My target today was to finish the film as all i had left was the interview. Though to make the message of my video more understanadble i started of using a cutaway then using a quote about follwing your dream. It then goes straight in to the interview. I cut out the parts of me asking the question out so it just flows. Though to make this work the boys answerd the question by saying the question in their answer. IN their interview i used 3 cutaways 2 images and 1 video clip all were based on their anwser's. Throughout the interview i used a backing track very quitely.
If this was real i would not be able to use someone else's music with out their permission as it is copyright.So i have to take that in to consideration.
Today i have finished my video and reached my targets i have managed my time well and completed everything. I feel i have got a lot stronger on using the software and i am not afraid to explore the software any more.
30th June
Today Anthony batchler came in to check are progress and how we were getting on with the software. I showed him my video and he seemed pretty pleased. He liked my cutaways i had done and the message of the video.
He helped me out loads as he showed me an easy way of placing cutaways in with out getting out of time from the video and the sound.
I started my video again. This did not take long to put it back together as now i have an easy technique.
I also finished the whole song today which i was really happy about.

23rd June
Today i will also be editing my film again. Though i have more footage i have collected that i need to upload.
The footage i have filmed is an interview of the boys. I ask them questions on how they plan to follow their dream.
Though i was more focused on the song part of the video and how i wanted to edit that and get that perfect. I could not find an easier way to get cutaways in so i just had to keep going through my video untill i was happy.
Again i spent all day doing this so once again i dont think i have reached my target. Next week i need to focus on the placing more cutaways in and the interview.
16th June

Today i have uploaded the footage i have been filming. My idea i chose was a music video with the purpose "follow your dream". I need to start editing today on the apple mac software. I have used the software before but im not to comftable with it, So i will need to develop new skills.
I uploaded all my footage and croped the main section i wanted what was the 2 boys singing. I have to detatch audio so if i delete parts of this clip the sound will still be their.This will be the main part of the video.
The next thing i did was chose the rest of the clips i wanted to use as cutaways. The reason i have filmed cutaways is so that the video is not just a clip of two boys singing, it will have many different clips. To put cutaways in you have to chose your section and place it next to the part you want it to be at. You then have to delete a section of the main video that is the same amount of time as the cutaway. You also have to detatch audio from the cutaway.
I found this really confusing as some times it would be out of seak so you have to start it again to get it perfect.
Today i dont think i achieved my goal as i was struggling. Also i tried to manage my time but as things were going wrong time was going fast. Next week i need to find an easier way to place in cutaways.

Anthony will be showing us some short movies he has made in the past and how he did them. As a workshop we will be getting in groups and creating are own short movies to develop are skills and get use to the cameras.

Today i will have to chose my final idea on what film i want to do. After my decision is made i have to create mind maps and story boards. This is so i have detailed notes throughout the project. The mind map and story board will have to include

-How i will film it
-Who will be in my film

The story board will be more based on timings locations and what i plan to do.

History of Home videos

From the moment i was born Home videos have been a huge part of my life. Iv never known someone not to own a video camera in a household. Though through the years iv seen them develop, become more suitable and more technical.Cameras are even on are mobile phones so werever we are we can record are memorable moments.
Invention of the camera.
Chinease and greak philosphers were the first to talk and describe the basic principals of optics and the camera in the 4th and 5th centuries in B.C.
Though in 1814 Joseph Nicephore niepce achives the first photographic image with a camera. Though not many people were interested as it had a downside such as needing 8 hours of light exposure.
Later on in 1837 the first image was fixed and only needed 30 minutes of light exposure.
In 1843 the first advertisment including a photograph was
made in Philadelphia.
George Eastman had been incharge of Eastman kodak for quite some while but it growing more and more popular in the 1900's. New films were being created on a celluiod base. Though only the rich and upper class people could aford these cameras.
In the 1930s more development was taking place. 8mm film was introudced so more people could buy it as 16mm was to expensive. 8mm was also easier to use. Audio was able to be recorded sepreatly and colour was introudiced to film. This is when cameras started to become the best.
8mm and 16mm were still populare through the next thew decades. Though most people who did not feel comftable using 16mm stuck with 8mm because it was easier to use and was fun to record home videos. However people did still use 16mm but mainly proffesionals. Home movies were becoming more and more popular .
In 1965 a new software was introduced called super 8 this was affordable and much more easier to use. Video cameras were now eing used by all class's so everyone could enjoy their own home movies and relive their memories.
In the 1970's videos were starting to chage. People were using cassests and they could play back their video on to tv. Was much easier to enjoy home movies. The size of the videocameras were getting much smaller . Further adjustments were happening wich ment recording video could go on for longer.The popularity was rising as most families owned a video camera. People were happy because cameras were no longer avaliable just for the upper class.
The first camera phone was made in 1997 by Phillippe kahn. People were mazed that you could now take pictures on your phone and no longer needed to bring a camera and a phone out. The first camera phone was made by Sharp. Soon followed by many other populare names in the mobile businnes.
Today we can take pictures and videos on are phone. This means nothing to us as we've always been around advance technology. We can also upload what we've just taken on are phone to the internet in minutes.

Youtube was first founded in Febuary 2005. Youtube is the most populare online video community. This allows millions of people everywere to discover,watch and share oringinal created videos.

Design ideas
My social life..
An insight of what i get up to with my friends and family :) by doing this i can show tough options teenagers are faced with .
this includes
-peer pressure
For example to do with alcohol and drugs . So if i was out one night and everyone was drinking and i didn't want to and i started to get bullied about it . This could relate to alot of children about bullying. This could be filmed out or at a party .
-friendship groups
Talk about the friendship groups and how everyones different and how everyone tries to be the same so no ones left out . Il use my friends and my diploma class to talk and show what they think of how people act to friendship's. Il video this in my diploma lesson and at main friends house's.
-clothes
I thought this would be good because it will show what people have to wear and how if your not in to the latest fashion people criticize what you wear . I will use my clothes and friends clothes to compare. This will probably be really simple to film cause it would just be in my room.
-family situations
For this i would use footage of arguments and what a teenager goes through at home and feelings on how and what happens at home. This will be simple to video around home or family day trips out. I will talk about the feelings of other teenagers and how they feel.
My friends and family will be included and will be filed around my house, friends house's and day trips out. The people that would most likely be in the footage will be my 2 best friends Harvey Harrison and Jack Jacobs. My family will also be in the footage but it would most likely be my Mum, Dad and Sister. My brother would be included but he's not always at home .Il film it over a long period of time then cut it down to certain clips to make it more interesting.
Music video..(the image is a band who do parodies on youtube)
-Parody This is when you remake a video and make fun of something by using other people peoples clips. Doing this i would pick a music video which would be easy for me to make. Example Tik Tok by Ke$ha Because you can just make up dance moves and remake the words to make it funnier. I would film this out and in the house but not at school .It would be funny and entertaining for school website. I would use a couple of friends to be in the video and think about costume's so it doesn't look messy.
Though i could also make my own music video up. By doing this i would get either some people in rock academy or friends i know who are musically talented and play musical instruments. I would make a song up with the band and think of a relevant video . This would probably be recorded in different areas outside. I would once again think of clothing so it does not look messy. I would also think about camera shots by researching in to that. Also i would make "making the video" that would start of so then it would finish with the final project.
Both of these ideas would take up 3-5 weeks to film .

-time- Take in the amount of time we have for the project and even though we can film whenever you want we also have to think about editing and come up with a plan b if everything goes wrong.
-equipment- Think about the consideration that we will most likely have to involve are own props and euipment. Though we do have cameras we are already using and tripods so we dont have to worry about filming, also we have memory cards so we will always have anoth storage.
-actors- Each design idea is differnnt so i would have to think about different actors for each of them, also i will have to get concent forms for the actors i do you use because if something happens for example they back out and say i cant use the footage i would still be aloud cause il have a form they signed.
-transport and locations - I cant do something that is hard to get to or for other actors to get to. Also il have to think of locations for example i wont be aloud to film in a shop.
-legality -I have to make sure everything is legal to do and make sure nothing is copywrite also i will have to get the permission of the actors im using and make sure they sign a contract to show they are willing to be working for me.

Design idea 3 Documentary on creative and media diploma ..
This can show younger children what the diploma is like and they can have an insight of what we do. What we've done so far.
This will help children if they don't no what they want to do when they get to year 9 or 10 . The video will include what we do in the lessons and the trips we go on and how it all links together. I would use the people in the creative and media diploma class. I would interview the students and the teacher Mr Coulson to see what they think of the diploma and how they feel about it. Also if they recommend it. It will be recorded in class to see what happens . Also talk about the friendships grown and the commitment . This will take about 4 weeks to film in each lesson.

How to cook...
This can show young children of brookfield school how to eat healthy and also cook there favorite deserts. For example how they can get there 5 a day

.By using my friends and myself to present it to make it more funnier so younger people would be more interested. I would use many different recepies of different corses. I would film this in a kitchen . I would have to do a risk assesment befor as there is many dangers in the kicthen. This would take a thew days to film for differnt shots and there would be alot of edditing for example when your waiting for something to cook.
